Nannup Music Festival 2009 Update
From Friday 27th February - Monday 2nd March 2009
(Western Australian Labour Day Long Weekend 2009)
The Nannup Music Festival is turning 20 and will host some of the world’s best artists over a weekend full of music and celebration. The 2009 festival will run over the March long weekend from 27 February to 2 March.
Over 200 artists will converge on the little town of Nannup and includes a list of headline acts that will blow you away. Exclusive to Nannup nationally is the inspiring American performer, Michelle Shocked. Fiercely independent and versatile, she is is an incredibly prolific singer-songwriter who refuses to be categorized. Her music and performances are influenced by her Texas roots, her political activism, and a self-assured style. She has been likened to troubadours such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Woodie Guthrie, yet can swing, rock, and even melt your heart like no other.
Another sensation to grace the Nannup stage is Australian musician Lior, back from his UK tour and out to impress with songs from his new album “The Corner of An Endless Road”. Lior is a musician whose music gives more than it takes, offering a spiritually enriching experience for all involved and a reminder of a time when the music came first, and everything else was secondary
Traditionally more at home performing intimate house concerts, support slots with The John Butler Trio are Mama Kin’s first foray onto the big stage. She is “…..honoured, humbled and excited” by the opportunity to further expand her relationship with audiences and will be a very welcome addition to Nannup.
And there is more headline artists to be announced in the coming weeks with some very special surprises in store. The Nannup Music Festival is a rare treat. Book your tickets and accommodation now and keep your eyes on the website for further announcements www.nannupmusicfestival.org

RAIL SIDINGS TRAIL (Nannup – Jarrahwood). This walk and cycle trail was completed in November 2007 and covers a distance of 26km – one way. The Sidings Rail Trail follows a section of the railway line that was built between Nannup and Wonnerup in the early 1900s. From here wood was transported to the port of Busselton.
